How Impact Works
Learn how Rooted connects spiritual habits and memberships to documented real-world impact.
Trees
Tree impact is connected to qualifying Bible-reading milestones in Rooted. When a tree milestone is reached, Rooted commits to fund or carry out real-world tree planting. Partner-supported impact is calculated using documented impact metrics, while activities carried out directly by Rooted are supported by records of the activity and associated costs.
Meals
Meal impact is connected to qualifying Rooted memberships. A meal provided represents food assistance equivalent to one meal based on a documented and reasonably supportable impact metric or comparable cost basis. Rooted may fund this impact through vetted partners or fund and carry out qualifying food-assistance initiatives directly.
Clean Water
Clean-water impact is connected to qualifying active-day milestones in Rooted and may be represented in gallons. Reported gallons are based on documented impact metrics or a comparable documented methodology when Rooted funds or carries out qualifying clean-water initiatives directly.
An impact milestone represents Rooted's commitment to fund or carry out the stated real-world impact.
Partner-Supported Impact
Rooted may fulfill impact by providing funding to carefully vetted 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or by funding qualifying initiatives operated by third parties. When a partner is used, reported impact is based on documented contributions and the partner's published or otherwise documented impact metrics.
Rooted-Directed Impact
Rooted may also fund, organize, or carry out qualifying impact activities directly. When Rooted carries out an initiative itself, reported impact is supported by Rooted's records of the activity, associated costs, and the methodology used to calculate the reported outcome.
A Rooted membership is a purchase of Rooted's app and membership services. It is not a charitable donation. Payments made to Rooted are not donations to a charity and are not represented by Rooted as tax-deductible charitable contributions.
Rooted reports impact using information we believe provides a reasonable and supportable basis for the impact claimed.
- Records of contributions made to impact partners
- Published or otherwise documented dollar-to-impact metrics
- Records of qualifying activities carried out directly by Rooted
- Documented costs and calculation methodologies for direct initiatives
- Aggregate impact totals for trees, meals, clean water, and other qualifying initiatives
Our goal is simple: every impact claim Rooted reports should be connected to documentation that reasonably supports the stated outcome. Reported impact may be fulfilled through vetted nonprofit partners, qualifying third-party initiatives, or activities Rooted funds or carries out directly.
